Abstract:
Research on happiness has witnessed remarkable growth in recent decades. Understanding the factors that influence citizens’ well-being is crucial for devising effective government policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Mexico. Regrettably, this subject remains largely underexplored in the Mexican context, with limited studies focusing on the topic. This study conducts a comprehensive review of current literature in the realms of happiness, social networking, psychological factors, and socioeconomic factors, with the aim of identifying the key variables associated with the happiness of citizens in Mexico. Data from the 2021 National Survey of Self-reported Well-being (ENBIARE) in Mexico was analyzed to achieve this. Employing both exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, a rigorous examination of this dataset was conducted to pinpoint the principal factors that impact the well-being of Mexican citizens.
