Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming both industrial workplaces and society. The aim of this study is twofold: (1) to examine the dynamic interplay between AI adoption and the well-being of employees, and (2) to examine the influence of AI on decision-making processes and its potential to enhance job satisfaction. Using data collected from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) database of the impact of AI on the workplace, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) is used to delve into these intricate relationships. Contrary to the results of previous studies, our findings reveal that AI does not adversely affect happiness levels; instead, it is found to be a valuable tool, facilitating more effective decision-making, and offering promise for boosting employee well-being. The study contributes to the current understanding about AI’s multifaceted impact on the workforce, offering empirical insights that challenge prevailing concerns and underscore the potential benefits. The paper concludes by offering implications for workplace managers on the positive role that AI can play in shaping the future of work and employee satisfaction.
